Do you think a tribal type society would satisfy the human need to be loved and reduce anxiety, more so than big population centres and individual living?

The problem with, say, small-town living (and I'm guessing this might be true of tribal societies as well) is that although you certainly do feel loved if you fit in, you can be completely friendless if you're too different from everyone else. At least in a big city you have more chance of finding people with whom you can form your own "tribe."

Although we are designed to live in tribes, you can't just drop tribes back into the modern world. And just because we are designed to live a certain way doesn't mean we have to or even should.

Tribal Type societies are very much what i see city living as in some instances.. Even more so when it comes to football supporters... Tranmere is my tribe, no other tribe will do. Some people live by this more than others....
