Twas another early start, although slightly later than usual at around 5:15-5:30am (neither Lu or I can remember exactly). Is the blackout blind working? If so no huge effect yet. I'm assuming to change her sleeping patterns it might take a few days, but not much more than a week. More on sleeping patterns later... I forget what happened after that, but I think I spent the early shift with her, then swapped with Lu.

I discovered a forgotten bottle and can of beer in the freezer from yesterday. Both of course had popped open, and sprayed icy beer froth around the freezer drawer. Fortunately the damage wasn't too bad, and I just had to wait for the frothy ice to melt so I could wash the drawer.

We walked into Fleet later on in the morning as Lu wanted to get some odds 'n' sods. I was feeling really tired again but managed it. Lu was about to leave for work but Amélie was griping and indicating she wanted a feed, so Lu gave her a feed and she fell asleep. No great surprise as she had woken up early and not gone to bed particularly early. Mum was due to come around at 2pm, so I called her and put her off for an hour, assuming she wanted to spend the maximum time with Amélie.

I went and napped, or tried to. Mum arrived at 3pm, and Amélie woke up shortly after. We then had the usual fun and games, both in the house and outside in the garden. Amélie's often quite shy when people arrive, even with Mum, but she warms up fairly quickly.

Mum left around 5pm, and I started dinner around 5:45pm. I popped upstairs to discover a message from Lu on my phone saying she was going to be late, but the spaghetti was already going at that point. I also found an agency had called me re. a project management job. I'll call them tomorrow, but what's the betting that this is another waste of my time?

Amélie proved to be difficult to get to sleep, although I suspect she was tired from around 7pm onwards. Lu tried to put her down a couple of times, but each time she woke up again while still with Lu. Eventually Lu was at her wits end, after 9pm, so I put Amélie in the cot and she fell asleep within 2-3 minutes. I couldn't quite believe she was asleep, and had to check the IR camera to make sure she really was.

The rest of the week is going to be quiet. Job hunting with the odd podcast, if I'm in the mood for it. The weather's also looking increasingly rubbish.

Does Amelie have a drink of water she can get to in the night? I know once is sun is up and the heat starts to rise Finn gets very thirsty.

Not that she can get to, but she doesn't ever seem to want much to drink for some reason (she is getting breast fed a lot). Do you leave water in the cot with Finn?

He has a beaker/sippy cup, when he wakes up it can take a bit of persuasion but he will eventually take it and sometimes after a few minutes will lay back down and go to sleep. For some reason we haven't kicked him out of our bed yet so we keep it on the bedside table.
