In public news...

I actually had a good night's sleep. Hooray! I went to bed around 9pm, fell asleep very quickly, and then slept through until Amélie woke up at a vaguely normal 5:30am. I vaguely remember then getting up around 6am and spending some time with Amélie, along with getting ready for work. There was some concern, as Lu mentioned seeing blood in my urine (from a midnight visit to the toilet where I hadn't flushed to avoid waking everyone up). I forgot about this relatively quickly though, and only remembered later in the day.

Work was very busy, but I feel really happy at the moment, almost deliriously so. My technician and the work experience student are a fun team. There's loads to do and I'm learning loads. It's pushing all the right buttons for me. I'll be really sad when the honeymoon is over, which I guess will happen eventually.

I popped into the local supermarket on the way home and ironically bought some things for work. We've got nothing to wash our cups up with, nor anything to clean the horribly grimy desks with. I made some inquiries about getting some supplies at work, but it sounded like it was going to be much more complicated than spending a few quid on the way home, so I opted for that.

When I got home I tried to do some website work, but my brain was pretty much non-functional. So I just had to go lie down and stare at the ceiling to try and revive myself, albeit I fell asleep. I woke up when Lu and Amélie came home at 6pm. Amélie fell pretty much straight asleep with a feed, so Lu and I made dinner from some leftovers. I then went straight back to website editing.

Amélie woke up just after 9pm, so now we're catching up with her bedtime routine. Hopefully she'll fall asleep again relatively soon, and there won't be an overly early start tomorrow.

My 'expertise' lies more with females than males, but I'm pretty sure that blood in the urine should usually be mentioned to your GP at least, and checked if it's recurring. If it was a one off and a light showing, then you could be excused for adopting a 'wait and see' approach, but I'd always urge checking of it -- the field I work in is slightly different, as a lot of the time we expect there to be blood there!

Ah yes, I forgot to follow up. I forgot to check during my first visit of the day, but did during the second and there was nothing there. So it's a bit of a mystery. The problem is I forget to check, flush, and... damn!
