Very tired, but let's see what I can do...

Watched the final episode of Misfits. Not sure what to make of it, and this entire season. It was interesting to see the Simon/Alisha timeline tied up, but it felt like a pale thing compared to the connecting story in Season 2. I suspect it would be a good idea to stop now, but Wiki's sources say a 4th season has been announced. Apparently the actress that plays Alisha is leaving, so there's even less of the original cast left. Here's hoping they can massively improve the writing after a very shaky 3rd season.

Also watched the final episode of Black Mirror. Wow did they leave the best to last. Although the story echoed various other SF stories it stood sufficiently alone, and was both brilliant written and acted. I was under the illusion that this was also written by Charlie Brooker, but it was apparently Jesse Armstrong. For some reason it touched a real nerve and gave me a sense of deja vu. Very odd.

Well that was how I passed most of the morning. I slept well, but Amélie woke up at 5am local time, so didn't sleep a great deal. Lu went out in the morning to the doctor.

In the afternoon Lu went to her favourite beauty salon. I assembled Amélie's paddling pool, and she played in that for an hour, which was fairly exhausting work. Then we played with books and iPads until Lu came home.

It transpired that Lu's neighbour, about two doors away, has opened a pasteleria (which sells among other things pastel). This is one of Lu's favourite Brazilian foods, and one that's very difficult to get in the UK. So we popped down there. It further transpired that one of the people serving was an old school friend of Lu's. We were there for an hour or so, although I opted for an ice-cream. They had a large tortoise, and Amélie was going crazy following the tortoise around their front garden, shouting "Turtle! Turtle!".

I was reminded of the dangers of Brazil. The news was showing various car accidents in the city this morning, including at least one death. Also there was a particularly weird character walking along Lu's road, a young kid covered in filth, who had a wild look about him (whether it was drugs, or drug induced craziness). It's these sort of people that can just mug you from nowhere. Of course there are car accidents and muggings in the UK, but it just feels more immediate here.

We headed off after 6:30pm for the dinner with Lu's university friends. These are always a mixed affair. I go because Lu wants me to go, but the combination of my poor hearing, and inability to follow the conversation, means I'm half crazy by the end of it with boredom. This was a particularly bad one because it ended so late. I really really shouldn't go next time, because I'm just completely pointless at these events.

Amélie slept throughout the whole thing, and then woke up on the drive home at around 11:30pm. She's almost still awake, and I'm feeling ill because I'm so tired. Lu has basically collapsed asleep through tiredness, and just cannot stay awake. Methinks it will be a more relaxing day tomorrow. I need to get some sleep somewhere that I'm not interrupted, even if that means ear plugs and/or sleeping in the other house.

And it's officially Lu's birthday. I wished her happy birthday but I'm not sure it registered.

It was bad enough with Nathan gone, but with Simon gone they've ripped the heart out of it.

I would love to see them resurrect it, but based on Season 3 I have my doubts!

Sad :-(

Yep, S3 was a real shadow of previous seasons. At least we've got S1 and 2, right... RIGHT?! :-)

I'd still love to be proven wrong, and for them to pull S4 out of the bag. Curious how the actors seemed to have meant just as much as the story.

And ditto on seeing Nathan again, albeit a repeat. I had a tear in my eye.

I'm trying to picture Misfits with Curtis, Kelly, Rudy and new people. No. Just no. Better to make a Curtis spin-off rather than a new Misfits series IMO, as Curtis is the only one left that I care about enough to follow!

For me, Seth was the only character that seemed to have... well, any character. And his power was hardly exciting, sadly.

Yep, Seth and Kelly didn't seem quite right!

Perhaps they'll attract back Robert, but it seems very unlikely.

Probably best just to leave it to die, and forget Season 3 ever existed.

Here's hoping that some other talented writer (crew, and actors) can bring some new programming to the fore that equals it.
