What TV/film/music do you think has been overhyped?

Lost is a bit of a wierd one for me... I think I'll only be able to judge if it's hype or substance when it's concluded.

As time is wearing on, I'm becoming increasingly convinced that it's hype and that they won't be able to deliver a satisfying conclusion. I'm very much hoping to be proved wrong on this though :)

I haven't seen Cloverfield yet, but it is an interesting idea.

As for things I think that are hype; Channel 4's Shameless. I've excreted better TV shows...

So far with Lost I'm really enjoying it, but if it goes flat I'll be disappointed. I'm keeping my expectations low though each season, maybe that helps.

Not seen Shameless, and I suspect I won't try now ;-)

i used to be obsessed with lost, when they got to season 3 they started getting a little too surreal for the sake of it, *shrug*

i enjoyed cloverfield as it was different if a little cheesy, it defied certain holywood conventions and stuck to eastern storylines which pleased me

Certain aspects of Lost are a bit out there, such as the black smoke monster, although I think that featured early on. I think as mentioned above if they don't tie the whole story off successfully there will be a big backlash against it, perhaps even bigger than there is now! ;-)

And I must try and see Cloverfield...
