Do any of my photographer friends know if you can buy a wriststrap for an SLR camera? I get a bit tired of the neckstrap, and would rather wrap something purpose built (probably using velcro) around my wrist.

Does such a thing exist?
OK yep, they exist. Finding one locally looks to be difficult though.

In other news, I was after a Dummies Guide-a-like for the 450D, so I can make more of the other modes or at least understand them. And blow me down an actual Dummies Guide exists, sort of. Not released until October 9th though unfortunately.

There are some curious Dummies books around though, if the titles aren't oxymorons.

Ok, that canon dummies guide is going straight to the top of my wish list :)

BTW did you use the 450D at the Madge concert? If so, what lens where you using and did you have issues getting it through the security as I know events tend not to like people bringing in "professional" cameras

The author's previous book for the 400D got great reviews which bodes well!

Nope. It was buried in this entry...

... although in detail, the ticket said "pocket cameras only" with photos for "personal use only" and granting copyright on any photos to Madonna's management.

I decided to only take the Lumix, but when we got to the search area they just briefly took a shufty in my bag, and let me move on. I'm sure I could have put an SLR in there, albeit with dismantled lens, and they would have been none the wiser.

Anyway, as much as I love the Lumix, it just couldn't cope with the distance and lighting conditions. If only I'd had the 450D! *sniff*
