What was your favorite childhood meal? Do you still love it? Does it taste as good as you remember it?
More or less without fail my Dad would make this every Saturday. I think it started when Mum worked part time, which involved working on Saturday. Dad was very much the male cook stereotype e.g. lots of fuss, taking lots of time, and making lots of mess, but the result was always worth it.
I cook Spag Bol (which we always called Spag Bog for some reason) using my Dad's recipe still, more or less. It's very much food for my soul still, and comforts like only food from your childhood can. It definitely still tastes as good as I remember, and it's always great on those rare occasions that I get to eat it at Mum and Dad's.
