Played Child of Eden for 10 minutes and got bored. Am I just bored of video games, or is it the genre? Ho hum.

It certainly feels like an innovative game, and for a moment there I felt like I was inside a science fiction film, waving my arms around and killing aliens. Perhaps it's because it's quite a tough game, as once you're dead that's it. No checkpoints or save games.

No checkpoints or saves seems a bit unforgiving and stone-age. That said, Sims 3 doesn't auto-save as I've found out the hard way 3 times in the last week. Collectively 9 hours of simming lost. :'( S'what you get for playing the Sims I spose :P

Actually I suspect I'm being unfair to it. It seems from the menu screens that you can unlock different "worlds", so I'm guessing once you get past the first one it's unlocked and opens the next one etc. It's surprisingly tiring with the physical angle though, but I shouldn't complain.

Does the Sims require a manual save?

Yup, which in such an immersive pc game seems like major developer fail =/ There isn't even an auto-save option to turn on, it just doesn't exist.

Adam said he played Eden today at work and thought it was pretty decent. He said if you complete a level then you get to save it, and the levels take about 10-15 minutes to do :)
