Film Reviews: Cleanskin (2012)
BB Piano
Cleanskin (2012). Written and directed by Hadi Hajaig. The film starts with the theft of Semtex from a courier by a Muslim terror cell. Ewan (Sean Bean) was assigned to protect the explosive, and despite his failure is drafted in to locate the terror cell and kill them. Cleanskin feels slightly confused. On the one hand it tries to tell the story of conversion to terrorism of one of the Muslims (Abhin Galeya), although it wasn't entirely convincing for me. On the other hand it tries to tell a story of a government that has some equally extreme motives to stop terrorism. Bean and particularly Galeya are good, and so is the pacing, but the confused motives of the story didn't help, and I didn't feel much for the characters. 3/5 (Average)
