Being Visual About Music

I've often been visual about music, which I appreciate doesn't make much sense. So to explain, there are times when a visual element to a song has really sold it to me. That probably disgusts the music purists.

On that basis I've liked the idea of entire albums accompanied by videos, although inevitably it's quite rare. Daft Punk's Interstella 5555 is one, albeit more of a film. More recently there was Underworld's Barking, which was more a case of lo-fi art videos to accompany each track.

And even more recently I came across a track by Bon Iver called Hinnom, TX (although I can't remember where offhand). I find the track hypnotic... enchanting. I'm not quite so wowed by the rest of the somewhat samey self-titled album it belongs to, but they have done a similar thing to Underworld and released a set of varied art(ish) videos to accompany each track. And they're conveniently all in a YouTube playlist, in album order for those with OCD about these things, and all in varied forms of HD for those who are also OCD about those sorts of things.

Sorry, no punchline.
