Connery 'turning back on movies'. Connery doesn't want to make any more movies as he is "fed up with the idiots" now working in Hollywood. Savvy Scotsman, or grumpy old man?

Actor Foxx defends co-star Cruise. Jamie Foxx argues that Tom Cruise is under the spotlight as "he has never had a fall" therefore the press want to trip him up. Despite this, Foxx's comment that he does "not like not being in a relationship" as an explanation for his relationship with Katie Holmes doesn't do him any favours.

My grandad the Nazi. Having just commented about the Auschwitz documentary, this article struck a chord. A grandson researches the life of his grandad, a member of the SS. It ends with a comment that again struck a chord with what I was thinking when watching the documentary: "If it shows that my grandfather can not only stand aside while bad things happen but actively take part, then it could happen to any of us."

And in other news, I'm having a quick look through the zillions of trailers I'd forgotten I had downloaded...

I had great hopes for A Sound of Thunder, but based on the latest trailer it very much looks like it's been turned into a mindless action flick.

Some other trailers are looking a little better though e.g. The Brothers Grimm, Broken Flowers, The Baxter, Pulse (which looks like it's being remade from J-Horror to a USA version), Shopgirl, The New World, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Corpse Bride, Just Live Heaven (albeit a chick flick), Zathura (SF Jumanji), V for Vendetta, MirrorMask, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, The Chumscrubber, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe , Doom (albeit a cliché of a cliché), The Exorcism of Emily Rose , Lord of War, and Grizzly Man.

So it looks like a good few months for film, now I just have to (a) wait for the blighters if (b) they come to the cinema in Brazil. And of course folks, don't trust a book film by its cover trailer.
