Men's beer belly 'days are over'. Slightly heavy wording in the title, when based on a UK survey only a third hated their stomachs, and a quarter had issues with their entire bodies. Apparently a quarter are pressured by their partner to shape up.

Nanotech discovers the Americas. US scientists use DNA bonding to make the smallest ever map of the Americas. Other shapes made by the same technique include a smiley face.

US TV stations face record fines. Over a 100 US TV stations received a collective US$3.6 million fine for showing an "indecent" episode of the series Without a Trace. The episode in question showed a possible rape with teenagers involved in sexual activity.

Spousal death 'not so upsetting'. Research by a US team shows that spousal grief might not be as upsetting as previously thought. Around half the couples surveyed recovered relatively quickly, and were thought to be balanced and mentally healthy individuals who just coped well. Surviving memories of the relationship was thought to be an important factor in recovery. In 10% of cases the death of a partner was a relief, for those trapped in poor and relationships.
