Internet user admits 'web-rage'. Actually Lu found this one via a Brazilian site, but this is supposedly the first "web-rage" attack in the UK. In December 2005, Paul Gibbons, 47, tracked down and drove the 70 miles to the house of John Jones, after they exchanged insults in a chatroom for Muslims. Jones opened the door with a knife for protection, but was knocked to the group and beaten with a pickaxe handle. An accomplice of Gibbons' was carrying a machete, but used Jones' knife to attack him also. Jones' partner and three kids were in the house at the time. Gibbons' had a violent past, and managed to track Jones' down based on photos of his family he has posted (presumably if he was hosting via his own domain it's a few mouse clicks to discover an address). Gibbons' was sentenced to two and a half years in prison last Friday.
